Orthotist
Duties and responsibilities:
Orthotist help patients that need
extra help for their muscles, spine, or limbs. They make, design, and fit apparatuses
made of plastic, wood, leather, and metal. They work with physicians to give a
patient a prescription for an orthotic or prosthetic device.
Average salary: $25,000 - $40,000
Educational requirements:
Students should take the most
challenging courses in science, math, and English in high school. Some colleges
and universities may offer bachelor’s degrees and programs. The programs
include courses in anatomy, physics, mathematics, mechanical drawing, and the
use of materials for making devices.
Reflection: this honestly sounds
like a fun job, so It kind of has caught my attention. And I honestly would
sort of like to be an “orthotist”.
