Student Success Statement

“When obedience becomes our goal, it is no longer an irritation, instead of a stumbling block, it becomes a building block.”

James E. Faust

Reflection: what I believe this quote means is that obedience is and will always be your main goal. You will be tested your entire life with the obedience test. Regardless of the situation you are facing, you always do the right thing and choose the right. Not only will you feel better towards yourself, but you shall always feel confident. Obedience is the great test of life.

“Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right?”

Student Success Statement

“Attitude is the mind’s paintbrush. It can color any situation.”

Anonymous

Reflection:
your attitude defines the way you see things in either a good or bad way, it’s up to you whether you decide to stay positive and look at the bright side of everything, or you want to stay negative and think of everything from the dark side. Having a positive attitude towards yourself and others will make you a better person. Only you can decide to paint your situation the color you want. From dark to bright, or from bright to dark. No one but yourself has control over that.

Example: looking at homework from a good attitude, you’ll notice it’ll help you not only understand better but do better. On the other hand if you look at it from a bad attitude, you’ll believe that homework is just a waste of time and you’re not learning anything from it. So it’s really just up to you how you want to see things.

Student Success Statement

“He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.”
A Proverb

Reflection: sometimes in life it’s always better to be alone than to be around the wrong group of people. What is popular is not always right, and what is right is not always popular. (;   Being around bad influence is most likely going to influence you into doing something that is not right, unlike if you’re around a group of people that worry about their future and actually try to reach their goals. Be someone positive in life, don’t ever let the negativity get to you. Be smarter than that, always do what right and never give up on your goals or dreams because you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. J !

Student Success Statement

“You can’t hire someone else to do your pushups for you.”
Jim Rohn

Reflection: you can’t have others accomplish YOUR goals, they’re your goals for a reason. They are there for YOU to accomplish them not others. You always have to stand for yourself in order to get far, because in life there’s always going to be someone better, but that’s only if you allow yourself to fail. Nothing is too difficult, always set your mind to accomplishing your goals and never stop until you have reached them. But never depend on others, because at the end its always going to just be you for your own self.
example: taking a test knowing you didnt study, you're most likely to copy off someone else, but you know thats not right. its always better to take it yourself than copy of someone else. (x

Student Success Statement

Regarding successful living:

“There is no giant step that does it. It’s a lot of little steps.”
ANON

Reflection: when it gets to reaching your goals, there is no possible way you will reach it in a heartbeat, it all adds up from little things. It takes time, being patient is the first small step, if you aren’t patient then it’s more likely you won’t accomplish your goals, because everything takes time and a lot of effort. You always start off by something small to get to where you want to stand. ;)

“Right is right, even if everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it.”
William Penn

Reflection: what this quote means to me is that you should always do the right thing regardless if others are against it, because doing what is wrong will only damage you more. Doing what is right is choosing the right (;

Student Success Statement
Cowardice asks the question, is it safe?
Expediency ask the question, is it politic?
Vanity asks the question, is it popular?

But, conscience asks the question, ‘is it right?’ And there comes a time when we must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one’s conscience tells one that is it right.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Reflection: this quote by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. has many different meanings. Meanings that vary depending who you are and what you believe. For example to me this quote means that sometimes there’s obstacles in life that will try to held you down because doing what is right is forbidden for others. Sometimes doing the right thing is the wrong thing for others. But truth is never allow anyone to stop you from doing what you know is right because at the end of the day who is there for you? No one but yourself. Just be yourself regardless of who is looking or aiming to bring you down. Be happy with yourself! :)
ex: your friends telling you to change their test score higher, you know you shouldn't, the teacher trusts you, you either loose your teachers trust or your friends get mad or stop talking to you. you know exactly what is right, because you know changing the test score is wrong. xD

“Let us have faith that right makes right, and in that faith lets us to the end dare to do our duty as we understand it”

Student Success Statement

“The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon:  self-respect, dignity, integrity, and self-esteem. “

Dr. Laura Schlessinger

Reflection: in my opinion what I believe this quote is trying to tell us is that in order for you to do well, reach higher, and do what’s right  you, need to have respect towards yourself as well as with others. You should always have dignity and be honest with everything you do or say. Always have good self-esteem towards yourself. Because once you love yourself nothing and no one can bring you down.

Student Success Statement

“Right is right only when entire.”

Victor Hugo

Reflection: what I believe this quote means is that you know exactly what’s right, you could go ahead and what is right but if you truly don’t or didn’t mean to do the right thing then it completely doesn’t count. You’d have to truly mean each and every thing you do in order to feel good towards yourself.

Student success statement

“That which we persist in doing
Becomes easier to do, not
That the nature of the thing
 Has changed But that our
Power to do has
Increased.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Reflection: what this quote means to me is that in order to achieve on something, it always takes practice. Failure is a step to achievement, if you don’t fail you won’t try harder, I you don’t fail you won’t do better, if you don’t fail you won’t get stronger. Failure is a part of success.
