Health Information Specialist


Duties and responsibilities:

Health information specialists have many different responsibilities. For example they obtain, post, and analyze medical workload, finance, and insurance data.  They need to make sure that the information that is recorded is correct. Health information specialists work in hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, physician offices, and other.

Average salary:

$20,000 - $25,000 for Coding Specialists 
$23,000 - $30,000 for Record Technicians
$30,000 - $40,000 for Record Administrators

Educational requirements:

Coding specialists are required to have a high school diploma or GED certificate. Accredited record technicians must have an associate’s degree from a college. Record administrators must have a bachelor’s degree program in the field and pass a certification exam.
 
I don't think id like to be a health information specialists because id get really annoyed. (x

Health Educator


Duties and responsibilities:

Health educators provide information on health and health related issues. They can assess health and training needs and plan health education programs. They may specialize according to specific health concerns, illnesses, or work or training settings. Health educators may work as independent consultants or in health departments, community organizations, businesses, hospitals, schools, or government agencies. Health educators often:

perform health training needs assessments.

design and develop health education programs.

publish health education material, information papers, and grant proposals.

develop health education curriculum.

teach health in public and private schools.

Average salary: $20,000 - $35,000

Educational requirements:

Students should take college preparatory courses during high school.

Health educators have, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in health education. Many have master’s degrees. To be certified or licensed to teach health in public schools requires a master’s degree and successful completion of a written exam in many states.
no I wouldn't like to be a health educator because I hate talking anything that has to do with peoples health.

ex: being kind towards others would make them want to talk to you, but if you're unkind no ones honestly going to like you nor will they want to be anywhere around you.

Genetic Counselor


Duties and responsibilities:

 
Genetic counselors work with patients who were born with effects. Their job is also to counsel/help their patients who are at risk of any problem or disease. They often:

 inform their patients about their condition

educate patients about any history diseases

help their patients and family members to reach the best decision

Average Salary:  $25,000 - $55,000

 Educational requirements:

Students are to take the most challenging high school courses in biology, chemistry, and science.

I honestly wouldn’t like to be a Genetic Counselor because I would hate having to inform and talk to people about their health problems.

Epidemiologist


Duties and responsibilities:

Epidemiologists study the frequency and distribution of diseases within human populations and environments. Specifically, they measure the incidence of disease occurrence and relate it to different characteristics of populations and environments. Epidemiologists perform research, education, and public health practice in universities, government agencies, international organizations, and private corporations. Epidemiologists often:

Work on developing or refining methods of measuring and evaluating disease occurrences.

Develop and recommend public health policy.

Study or research chronic diseases, infectious diseases, disease outbreaks, injuries, occupations, and environments.

Average salary: $30,000 - $50,000

Educational requirements:

Students should take the most challenging high school courses (including AP or IB courses) available in science, math, and English.

Epidemiologists have, as a minimum, master’s degrees in public health. Undergraduate requirements for admissions into public health graduate programs vary by schools but usually include strong backgrounds in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and or statistics.
