Medical Illustrator


Duties and responsibilities:

Medical illustrators work in creating pictures for textbooks, journals, magazines, and educational films. They might also work in modeling artificial skills like ears, or noses for patients that are deformed. (x

Average salary: $35,000 – $50,000

Educational requirement:

Students should take high school courses over art and science. In college they should major in art or major in science. Undergraduate science courses are required for medical school. Medical illustrators have Master’s degrees, and a requirement is a graduate degree in medical illustrations, a portfolio review, and a completion of a national examination.

Reflection: do you think you’d like to be one? Why or why not?

I don’t think I would like to be one because I have no type of patience for art.
